Somewhere between Southern Rock and Country lays an area of music that is uniquely Midwestern, this is where JT & The Gunslingers like to ride. Since their first show in May of 2014 JT & The Gunslingers have been honing a sound that is somewhat rock and somewhat country that they attribute to being raised in the Midwest. They attack the stage with a veracity that is seldom seen in bands together …for this amount of time. But, make no mistake about they bring decades of experience to the stage.
Just within their first year they have played with Nashville acts Jake McVey, Craig Morgan, and Montgomery Gentry. This year they are already contracted to open for Joe Diffie, Sammy Kershaw, and Sawyer Brown. They released their first single to Country Radio across the Midwest in just 14months of their first show. Their radio single “Our Town” features Tim Lauer (Keith Urban, Frankie Ballard) on piano and B3 and is also garnering attention from people in Music City.
With JT Thompson at the helm who has had a songwriting contract offer from Paramount Writers Group in Nashville, to Todd Owen on lead guitar who has shared the stage with the likes of Dale Watson, to Jimmy Riot on bass who was band leader for Alexa Ray Joel, to Eric Amundrud the Nashville Drum Dr on the kit. These guys pack a wallop of talent into their shows that are always one helluva good time.
